Hi everyone,
Well, yesterday was a bit of a day, with us on standby for a six hour journey down to Pembrokeshire, spoiler, luckily we didn't have to go in the end. Poor Esben, who has had chicken pox pretty mildly for the past week suddenly went downhill yesterday, Laura managed to get an appointment to see a dr who decided to send him to hospital. Fortunately it turned out to be a bad bout of tonsillitis, Brian was cross with the dr (the hospital is over an hour away) but I think she was right given that one of the rare complications of chicken pox is encephalitis and he was showing some of the symptoms. Anyway, we are still in Yorkshire and managed a late evening walk when the sun finally came out to see the bluebells at Oxenber woods.
I'm kicking myself because I didn't pack a spare bra and the underwire in the one I was wearing went ping yesterday, the nearest bravissimo is in Leeds so I think I shall have to put up with the discomfort.
We've got a few housekeeping things to do in Settle today but I think we'll try for another walk today and then we've booked a posh dinner for tonight, a long tasting menu so we're looking forward to that.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Bit of a damp start here today. I have a friend coming after work to walk and talk. He lost his mother a few weeks ago and is struggling as was her main carer. I hope the weather cheers up for that.
We saw Guardians III last night - wobbled a few times @-taff! so a bit of a later night but only have to struggle through today! We are at the theatre in London tomorrow seeing an Agatha Christie play as part of DH birthday gift from ILs. They've also given us some cash for a meal but DH has arranged for us to see his friends in the evening as there's live music on. Will be a quick Nando's as this rate....
Hope all the holidaymakers/travellers are having a great timeDinner tonight is pan-fried chilli salmon with veg.
Great that the metal went @TravellingAbuela
I only have 2 tomato plants @-taff but tbf I'm the only one who eats them
Poor little Esben @snoozer - I hope he's okay x
Have a good day all and gentle hugs to the poorlies x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It looks a bit gloomy out there but no rain is forecast. Just all day gloomy skies.
I have a grocery order due imminently but it won't take a lot of putting away as it's just a top up. Then I want to pop down town for a couple of bits I need.
Oh I see a van unloading outside so bye for now. Have a nice day if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. I hope Esben soon recovers well and enjoy your posh nosh SNOOZER. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -

Overcast here and rain due at lunch time, I have a wash on the go which can go on the airer.
Off to get my nails done this morning and put the world to rights with my lovely nail lady, we talk and laugh the whole time it’s very therapeutic 😃
DD is off now for the weekend so she will walk the dogs today, I will wizz round with the hoover before I go out.
Had a quote from the decorators for the hallway and study, all white paint minimal wood to rub down as most of it is new - 5k 😳😳😳😳 errrr no thanks ! So we are trying to get hold of another one today and if not we will do it ourselves, that’s two holidays for us !Steak and chips for dinner tonight, dd is out for a friends Birthday so just OH and I to eat.
Poor Esben I hope he is better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning! Lost a post, so short story, got a new quote for windows and porch, less than the special price cut-me-own-throat-Dibbler guy for the same stuff, we'll go with them being as I've had dealings with them before and they were good. Meeting with architect at the end of the month for Riba 4 drawings so we will decide where to put a new boiler then and I will also find a roofer for a new roof. Ours is crumbling in places. Not a lot to do then...eeek! I was going to be out with a friend today but her daughter will be coming to visit so we may or may not be going to a GC later...I have methi chicken a la Curry Guys book to finish for tonight [done the way he gives the recipes for - very long and involved but honestly, worth it, tastes so good already and it's not even made yet] and a bit of stone moving/gardening on the cards.Coxy, well done on your restraint
Hope your friend leaves feeling a bit better. My father was my mothers and he was so lost after she went, same for my sister and my father..You invest all your time and energy into them because you love them and then they are no longer there and you don't know where to put your love now...Along with all the other stuff that comes with losing someone, it's like a triple whammy.. snoozer, hope you can cope with the bra, it's so constantly annoying when that happens. Glad Esben is not as bad as the doc feared..Enjoy the menu! Izzy, you can do it! Bella, welcome back! Ruby, omg, I nearly had a heart attack for you when I read that..that is super extortionate for a few days work..Was he painting it with the blood of virgins collected at the new moon under the auspices of Cthulu? Anyway, have a good day all, enjoy your being away if you're away and take care all......
