Quick question

Hi not sure if anyone will know had a joint mortagage with ex went bankrupt in july. my house sale went through today and my share left over was £2600 which soliciter has sent to official receiver . Does that money stay with them now. I understand i went bankrupt and should not see the money but just wondered where it went

    Hi nicky,

    Only a technical point really because the net effect is the same. Any monies recovered go towards paying the O.R's fees first and then they get distributed amongst your creditors. Given that the O.R's cost are a healthy four figure sum there's not going to be much left for your creditors.

    Debt doctor has a more accurate idea of the O.R's fee structure, if you're interested.
