I understand that this deadline means you won't be able to pay into years before 2016 after the 31st July, but does it have any cost implications for years after 2016? I have a shortfall in years after 2016, do I still need to get them done before the deadline or will the cost still be the same after that date? (in which case I will wait until after 31st July when the phone lines are less busy)

All years 2020-21 and earlier will increase to £907.40.

In simple terms the price will increase by 10.1% to £907.40 for each year you buy.
In less simple terms, the 2 years immediately preceding the current year remain at their original price, so 2021/22 will still cost £800.80 until 5 April 2024 and 2022/23 will still cost £824.20 until 5 April 2025.1 -

So after 31st July, the earliest year you'll be able to buy is 2017-18.0
