  • @kingstreet Thank you! I am relieved a bit, fingers crossed they will make the decision soon. FTB so I may be overreacting
  • Submitted the supplementary documents 2 days ago and haven't heard back from Nationwide. There were a couple of large transfer (GBP 5K and GBP 10K) from my family to my donor's account (non-UK/EEA). Would this make the underwriter want to request more documents? The endless of request for more documents really makes me anxious and jumpy...

You should always expect enhanced scrutiny of any non-UK/EU/EEA transactions forming part of the deposit trail. Last one of these I had in 2022 saw an application submitted on 2 August eventually offered on 3 October due to the enhanced requirements for a donor in Vietnam.

  • By enhanced, what does it mean specifically? Bank statements for 2 years ago or even older? Why didn't they ask for everything in the first place. I can provide all at once which for sure takes less time than every time asking for a couple of them and then wait for 3-5 working day and asking for another more and again and again...

They will be receiving an item, analysing the data then determining against criteria and AML guidelines if acceptable, or if anything else is needed. You may be asked to get documents translated, if necessary.

  • @kingstreet Yeah I did provide translation for all documents I provide when passing them on to the broker. Hoping that could help them assess my case and potentially speed up the process...
  • @kingstreet When you say aml guidelines, does it specify that any transaction above a certain amount transferred to my donor's account (non-EEA) will require the underwriter to ask for more bank statements of the account that sent funds to my donor's account?

Lenders don't publish these because of the risk of criminals circumventing them. These only become known when the application requires it.
