You've put over £500,000 into a pension in less than two years?
(Technically not impossible - could have been inherited or a divorce settlement - but unusual.)
    DB transfer maybe?

Was this not a DC pension before June 2021? If so, I would look at the performance of it over the longer term rather than just a couple of years if you want a better picture of how well it has done.

So, you have been through negative periods before then?

So basically you have had pension investments for many years, and you just happened to combine them during a down period.
Your drop is just over 4%, and I just checked mine over the same period and the % drop is almost identical.
However over the last 10 or 15 years the results are much more positive.

Even if you start taking from it then, presumably you will be withdrawing from it over many years/decades to come, so you have to think on a long time scale, not just when you first access it.
