Octopus Intelligent

Options
Would you be able to charge say a compatible car? (Or charge using an Ohme charger), and charge up any solar batteries at the same time?

Using the Octopus compare app, it's showing that I'd save money on intelligent vs flux. Granted, I don't actually have an EV just yet and granted it isn't showing how much I'd gain from exports but an EV will absolutely dwarf your regular energy requirements

What size mains fuse do you have?  Single phase or three phase?

You can charge home batteries using octopus intellgent. You get cheap rate for the whole house in those 6 hours. You just set your battery to charge in the off peak time.
You can't get onto intelligent without an EV, as you need to do a test charge for the setup to complete

I'm not suggesting I'd go to Intelligent with JUST batteries but rather with an EV and also batteries

The reason why I asked the question is because I'm aware Octopus do exactly that (ie: a test charge) , and then wondered how it would work if you've got both

I think it's single phase? Would I perhaps need to upgrade?

You should be fine with single phase, just make sure your incoming fuse is rated at least 100 amps.
You can get it upgraded for free by UK power networks if not.

Just piggy backing on this thread, but I'm considering moving to Octopus Intelligent when my current Go fix ends.
What I'm wondering is how reliable the charging is and also how much user intervention there needs to be?

Currently my car (VW e-Golf) is set with the off-peak times on a seven day schedule so all I ever need to do is just plug it in. The car always schedules the charge perfectly in the off-peak hours and it has never missed a charge.

Does Octopus Intelligent work as hassle free or do you need to initiate the charge in some way each time? Does it matter how early or late you plug it in?

Do you have to use the Octopus smart-charging after the test charge or could you disable it/have it always on boost and let the car handle the charge in off-peak times?
