I received a leaflet through the post today titled "All the fresh, clinically laundered, modern, fitted, cotton nappies you need delivered to your door from as little as £7 per week"

I don't have children myself yet but i thought that it sounds a good deal

It is £7 a week if either parent is under 19 or for families with a low income or £10 otherwise. The price is for 1 baby but for families with more than one baby there is a £1 discount per child per week.

The price includes - advice, as many nappies as you need in different sizes, they are biodegradable liners with fitted soft outer pants, a nappy bin, weekly laundry with delivery and collection to your doorstep

I thought that i would pass this information on for anyone living in the calderdale area. the number to ring is 01422 8471080. There is also a website https://www.changeproject.org.uk but this is currently under construction

In addition to this some local authorities will give you money towards cost of real nappies or laudering service. Contact local council for info.

Real nappy week soon as well so may be more info about then.

Asda are currently having Baby week
  • My wife recently gave birth to twins girls. Wanting to be more eco friendly and maybe save a few quid,we approached "The change Programme" 6 months into my wifes' pregnancy. We spoke with a guy called Chris who appeared to be very professional. He sold the service very well. He asked for 4 weeks payment up front. He left us some nappy liners and outers.
Chris took and banked our cheque for £56 and told us to ring him when we were ready to start using the service.
When our girls were born we phoned Chris and told him that we may need some smaller nappy outers and liners. He didn't deliver. We phoned again, he came to collect but brought nothing. He replied with " I'll bring some next week". Next week!!!! We had 2 baby girls that were 4 weeks old. We had spent £££'s on disposable nappies + £56 on this "service".
After absolutely no correspondence from Chris or anyone else, we phoned to cancel. No-one contacted after that for two weeks!!!!!
Chris arrived to collect everything that he had left and said he was sorry we weren't happy and would refund us as we hadn't actually had a chance to use the service.

I am still waiting for my refund. Their website is down and they don't answer their phone or respond to messages.

    DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!

Excellent and reasonable. We would readily recommend them.

    Hi scottydog99

Since posting my first message I gave birth to my daughter in 2006. After 5 weeks I decided to try and use the Change Project Nappy Laundering Service as I felt "guilty" about the disposable nappies. I found no problems with the service or getting in touch with them and Chris came out to do the demonstration and for the weekly collections. I also paid the 4 weeks upfront and carried on for 6 weeks in total but gave up as they were quite bulky and did leak sometimes as her nappies were still quite runny. As i say though this was this time last year so things could have changed since and i'm sorry that you had a bad experience. Hope it all works out and enjoy every minute with your babies as it's true they do grow up so fast!
