Lidl Plus App in France?

I asked at my local Lidl if you could use it abroad and was advised go into it and change the country settings.

Has anyone used it in France?  We will use Lidl in France during out six week visit and it would be great if we could get coupon savings and use coupon plus.

I am visting Portugal soon (for a couple of weeks). There is a Lidl near to where we are staying, and I am tempted to try. I am very much expecting it not to work, and to be laughed at, but willing to take the risk!

The app gives you the option to change country location, the UK one is unlikely work abroad, so you will probably get whatever the offerings are there which won't be transferable.

I have used the Lidi Plus App in The Netherlands and Greece so it must work the same throughout Europe.  If you read French it will be much easier, I think you change the country and language in settings,  you may need to choose a local store and then you confirm your choice. 

Often they treat you as a new customer and as well as the general coupons they send you welcome coupons to get you to start shopping and to return again. You do not loose your old saved info (receipt) and when you come back just return the settings to UK.

It is possible to change the language  back to English while in France , but I found it unreliable.

We look on Google maps for the location of local stores. I found my UK info remained and I got all the email updates but you can't use the UK coupons  in another  country
