Neighbour's Caravan & SORN Vehicle Parked in MY parking space in residential car park

Hi,
I'm after some advice on how to deal with a neighbour's caravan and SORN car (with a flat tyre) which are parked in my parking space in our residential car park.
I'm selling my house and have only just found out that the space I thought was mine is actually a neighbours, and his space is actually mine!
I believe he is a tenant in the house, not the owner.
I'm about to approach him to request we swap but am wondering how best to broach this, given that his vehicles won't be so easy to move.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks.

Some leases require that vehicles parked in the parking spaces are taxed, insured and roadworthy. Check yours. Not an argument you want to start now, but could be leverage if they get awkward.

Perhaps you should speak to the conveyancing solicitor who undertook the searches etc on your property, because surely they should have spotted this and had it flagged (and rectified) before purchase.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Can anyone help me with what I can do about a van that has been parked outside my house for Three years now. It's sorn but it's on an unregistered road. The land registry have no idea who owns the lane. Surely the owner of the van needs written proof from the land owner to have permission to leave it there. I have been informed that no vehicle that has been sorn can parked on an unregistered road. Any advice would be gratefully accepted as no one from the council or police are willing to help.

Try doing a map search on the land registry
    Not an address search
Often one of the frontages will own the road
