Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Light but dry underfoot, cloudy too.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was pork loins braised in stock which then made a tasty gravy, new potatoes and veg. Tonight we need to use up the gammon, so probably gammon, egg, new potatoes etc.
Work will be busy today so hopefully the day will pass quickly - early finish though at 3.30pm and another long weekend.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, I'm looking forward to another long weekend too.
Dry and fairly bright this morning washing on the line - the towel wash from yesterday. Looks like it will stay dry, we didn't get the promised rain yesterday so I went out to try to tackle the front driveway, need to take out all the weeds and moss from the block paving, still thinking of having it lifted out as it's a pain to keep clear.
Another busy day at work, 2 children excluded for their behaviour and language, I try to stay out of the way!
Sorry you didn't feel like going away snoozer, hope you make a speedy recovery.
Lovely to hear from you Mehifin.
Hope you're OK poppy.
Enjoy today, Thursday already. Take care. XX11 -
Morning folks. My wool washing load dried well yesterday, no rain at all. I was invigilating National 5 maths, a gym hall of nervous pupils. Some got stuck into it immediately, some read the paper first and a couple didn't write very much at all. Mind you, I couldn't have answered any of them at all.Today I'm going to a fitness session. Joining the local gym was a waste of time and money, the place was too small and used by muscle men and women which was very off putting. No quiet times as it's part of the school so not open during the daytime. Anyway, the physio recommended this class which I'm trying before going away.Packing is almost finished. Shoes have to go in after I've decided which ones to take. Formal, walking, travelling all need catering for. I miss my old sketchers as they were so comfortable.I've still got some soup to use up today, my last meal here before I start my adventures. The fridge needs cleared and cleaned too. There's rubbish to take to the tip, a quick tidy up, last bits to go in cases, TV to programme and I'll be ready for the off tomorrow, well a soft off to the NE at least.Snoozer - lots of rest will help I hope. Get better soon. Poppy - my thoughts are with you too.Happy Friday to all.10

Morning everyone Gers have you tried M&M direct for sketchers they have them on for a really good price I’ve bought lots of things of them and always been way cheaper than the shops. It’s a chilly one the sun did get out for a while yesterday not that I seen it I’ve slowed down a lot at work I just couldn’t do it yesterday saying that I do feel a bit better today roll on the long weekend I ironed while the bosses wife polished the sellotape holders . Off to work now see what today brings . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A day of cloud for us is forecast but no rain until tomorrow.
My bus buddy and I enjoyed our day out yesterday as usual although lunch was a bit of a letdown. Cool lasagne was only just ok but we managed to eat it all anyway as we were both ravenous. We did well in the cs. My DF got 2 pairs of shorts for her upcoming holiday and I got a lovely Joules sweatshirt which looked brand new for £7.
A rare treat for me today! DS rang to see if I was doing anything today. He is on holiday this week (dog minding) as his DP is away on a girls trip so he offered to take me out for lunch! I don't know where we are going but I am looking forward to it anyway! He works such long hours I don't see enough of him these days.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. SNOOZER I hope you manage to rearrange your trip when you are feeling better. GERS safe travels on your adventures. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -

I've sorted through my limited number of shoes and found my lovely Flylot ones which I bought years ago and hardly worn. They are perfect for the ceremony. Trainers for travelling and Hotter trekker sandals for walking around. A bit faffy but done now.

Backpack ready for the weekend trip. Tiny wee cabin bag ready until I transfer the wash bag from rucksack on Monday. Hold luggage just about ready. Once I'm back from the fitness class I'll tackle the last minute bits and get stuff in the car. Even though I'm a reluctant traveller this time I am an enthusiastic aunt so it's to be done.10 -
Morning..I'm off for my first Costco visit today so I am expecting to be wowed by stuff. If not, I won't be going again
We'll vote before I go and himself goes to work, so that job will be done. I've been looking at my passport and thinking I should get another one even though it doesn't run out until next October because it was issued ten years ago next February and since reading about the EU refusing some passengers whose date of issue is over ten years, that put the wind up me a little bit. That's it for today though, no plans this evening.
Izzy, I'm a bit unhappy [or happy really] with you. I just went on that site to look and the pair of fitflop sandals I was watching on ebay is on there for 25 pounds cheaper...so now I've bought them. And actually checked topcashback for a change and got some cashback for it too. OH will also be the proud owner of some new pants which he really needs. thank you!! But slow down with the ironing...cleaning the tape dispensers...pah...Gers, have a lovely time, hope it all goes smoothly..TA, how lovely for you..I wish my mother were around for me to take her out, he's a lucky boy and you tell him I said so. camelot, I hope your new HT canimprove things...Ruby, hope you had a nice day off yesterday. mehefin, new sofa? woop! enjoy the trials! take care all, it's a new day...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Morning everyone
Bit dull here this morning but at least it's dry...I've hung some washing out.
Gers - I'm having the same shoe dilemma for next week, even though I'm only away 5 days!
Hope you have a brilliant time.
I had an excited phone call from eldest DD - she is definitely going to Japan, in just a couple of weeks time. She'll be working for 5 days and then is going to add extra days on either side of work...as she says in case she's never there again!
Yesterday afternoon it got out lovely...even warm enough to change into a t shirt! I sat and read for quite a while and then tidied the shed. Last night I had to do an online Child Protection refresher...not a nice way to spend a couple of ours but it's done now.
Well I'd best get on
Izzy your comment about the sellotape dispenser made me smile
Snoozer sorry to hear you didn't get away - hope you're better soon
Have a good day everyone x11 -
Morning all
Nice day here but rain due this evening, will get the dogs out this morning and then go and vote.
My client is still not well his mum phoned me last night and I could hear him in the background with a hacking cough bless him, his mum said she felt unwell too so it sounds like she has it coming, I still get paid though as it’s short notice.
Dinner tonight will be a fakeaway kebab from the PON book I shall do some pitta breads with it and a tomato and mozzarella salad.
WM is on and doing its thing I will hang the washing out for a while before the rain starts.
Gers it’s getting close now - how exciting 😃
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Hello all, it was a beautiful day yesterday and lovely and warm, I even took off my cardi ! The van was washed and polished but it took us all day, that'll each us not to leave it dirty at the end of our holiday year. I had an early night and I did sleep well, probably because of the hard work and the fresh air !
Today it's dry at present but some rain is due this afternoon. I don't mind I have a delightful afternoon of dashing the iron about. Probably it wouldn't take other people that long but I hate it, so I stop at any excuse 🤨
Well the double spacing has sorted itself out today, good job too, it was such a waste of space, literally.
Gers enjoy your time away.
Snoozer I'm sorry that you're too poorly to go away, look after yourself.
Izzy who knew that polishing the sellotape holders was a thing, perhaps it will be in the next Olympics 🤣
taff you threw me into a panic about voting as we haven't had our polling cards, then I realised Wales isn't due to vote, phew 😂
Mehefin Hi !!!
Take care all
nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Morning all, and thanks for the start nmlc x
Safe journey @Gers x
Hope you can rebook your trip for when you're feeling better @snoozer x
Enjoy the Costco visit @-taff - lots there but not always the cheapest once VAT is added imho
WFH today and going to see the Harold Fry movie again tonight as DDad wants to see it. Will purchase £land snacks/drinks at lunchtime as not paying cinema prices. Two loads of washing on the line as it's a nice day here. Dinner is fillet of pork, stuffed with spinach, mushrooms and garlic and wrapped in parma ham. Will serve with steamed veg.
Sending gentle hugs to all our poorlies and all good wishes to @poppy811 for this week x
