anyone know of bestpricedbrands.co.u k??

Hi
just wondering if anyone has used this company? I ordered a nintendo ds lite on behalf of my sister because shops are all sold out and the site came up in a kelkoo search. stated they do business with local authorities etc.

However, having paid through paypal three days ago after their site promised "Guaranteed delivery for Xmas", I haven';t heard from them despite sending two emails to their support email address.
their About Us section doesn't have any address or contact tel numbers.
Today, I received an email with a UPS tracking number - doesn't say what it is for or which company is shipping but I haven't ordered anything from USA and it says the parcel is currently in Kentucky !! I'm assuming it's the Nintendo but can't be sure. if so, it's never going to arrive in time - and with a high value item there would be high customs duty to pay !!
anyone used this company before?
thx
susan

  • A work colleague of mine ordered from them and delivery was fine, he was impressed with their customer service.

Do they have a number you can contact them on?
  • I also have just asked a question about this company,

  • I've just used them to purchase a Fujifilm Finepix F50 camera, paying £145 for a £250RRP camera.

I received the camera by UPS in about 4-5 days, and the camera looks fine. I also received a UK adaptor plug, but I don't think I got a mains charger anyway. The camera is wrapped up now, so I'll check when the other half opens it, but a quick check of the contents on the box I think confirmed that there's no mains charger anyway.

The receipt shows a 'game' for £25, so I've got away with not paying duty, but I've just had another look at the website and am alarmed as there's nothing to suggest it's not a UK company/distributor. I used my credit card to cover me anyway, but it looks like I've not been conned, and was impressed with the service I received. That said, reading the complaints in some of the links has made my mind up not to use the company again.

    Good luck
  • Well the ds came yesterday for my friend, all ok with uk adaptor. So quick delivery and no customs charge.

I ordered a digital camera - Fuji Finepix F40FD from this supplier but became concerned from the many negative reports but was especially unhappy at the web site misleadingly suggesting the vendor is UK based rather than US based.

I managed to successfully cancel the order via their web site - this resulted in an immediate refund to my PayPal account which was a great relief to me.

They do not publish a contact phone number but I found one via my PayPal transaction details. If it is of any help to anyone, it is 001-202-370-6432

    Cheers from Mike :)
  • BESTPRICEDBRANDS are a US company pretending to be a UK company, the prices are good, delivery is generally OK for this type of business.. BUT.....
if you do have a problem of any sort you are unlikely to get hold of anyone.
They do not list a phone number & will not answer emails, I have a faulty product (Nintendo DS Lite) Nintendo are not interested because it clearly states on the packaging that the item MUST NOT BE SOLD OUTSIDE THE US & couple of other non Euro countries, therefore you can not register the product with the manufacturer for warranty.

THEY WILL NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS.

Wish I had known that they were outside the UK, Charlatans........
  • Hi
just to update people. I posted the original message asking about this company. Fortunately for me, the DS lite did arrive at the promised time - three days before Christmas (just as well or my sister might never have spoken to me again :)
However, the customs label was clearly marked "video game" and showed value of only £18. (I think you can get goods upto £19 in value without paying import duty so they obviously do this to avoid the price being inflated by customs but it is clearly illegal.
I have just read the message about the warranty which is scary. I'll just have to keep fingers crossed that it doesn't develop a fault (and I'll touch wood too just to be doubly sure ) :)
I never did get replies to my emails but at least they did send the goods.

    thanks for all the replies
