MSE Poll: Have you ever asked for a pay rise?

Poll started 2 May 2023
The jump in the cost of living and soaring inflation have had major impacts on the power of pay packets - as for many, wages haven't increased nearly enough to cover these additional costs. Many public sector workers have resorted to industrial action to collectively demand better pay, yet for many the question is asked on an individual basis. So, this week, we want to know whether you've ever been successful in asking for a pay rise (disregarding any company-wide annual rises).

There's a flaw in this poll that I really hope you flag to your managers and fix for the next one. The way the newsletter was worded means that only those who actually asked for a payrise, would have clicked to vote. The results show the results heavily skewed to this too. Look at the wording, I almost didn't bother clicking as I haven't asked for a pay rise.
Wording: "So this week, we want to know whether you've ever been successful in asking for a pay rise (disregarding any company-wide annual rises). Vote in this week's poll."
It should have said, we want to know whether you've ever asked or not asked for a pay rise. And why you have or not. Or something similar1
