Help - work pension & carers allowance

Can anyone help.  I retired early to become full time carer for my husband.  I have a work pension and get carers allowance as well as Scottish carers supplement.  I am now over tax free allowance, I thought that DWP would advise HMRC about my carers allowance so my tax code would be adjusted accordingly and the tax deducted from my work pension.

Nothing happened so I phoned HMRC to ask how to adjust my tax code as I don't want this to go on for years and then get a massive tax bill.  They said DWP should advise them.  I phoned DWP, they said they never send details of carers allowance to HMRC.  I phoned HMRC again and they manually adjusted my tax code, but now I've had the letter they have not adjusted it by the correct account and they have deducted an amount for  state pension not carers allowance.  I've got another 7 years before I get state pension.

I'm really confused now and have no idea how I can get this sorted.  Can anyone help please 🙏
