Employee address question

Hello,
Quick question... If I'm on PAYE and I have recently moved house can I keep my old address?
Basically the house I've moved to also has 2 flats of the same number and my post always goes to the other properties. My old address is my partners parents and I'm more likely to receive any correspondence there.

A lad at my work place does this. He lived with his sister for a while and he still uses that address for our HR department to send anything to, even though he lives with his partner now at another address.
*shouldnt* be an issue from what I know of it at my place.. but I could be wrong.0 -
The employer is likely only interested in having a reliable contact address that they can post to if necessary. Equally, many employer's get "uncomfortable" if they feel that there is something being withheld from them. Would it be best to contact HR and advise them of the new address but request that the old address is used for any postal communication? You can then give a reason (about post reliability) and everything is above board.

I'd agree, I've used whatever address a colleague has asked me to use, eg student interns and recent graduates still using parents' address.
The main concern is that post reaches you. I'd try to sort out the issue with your flat.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Sorry I was Abit vague, it wasn't my employer I was referring to. It was more whether HMRC would care that I still use my old address for any correspondence from them. I feel I could miss possible post that they try and send me if I was to update address.0
