Question regarding mortgage application errors

I’ve learned a huge amount from these forums over the past few days and wondered if I could trouble you all with a question.

We’re buying our first home and using a broker. Our application has been agreed in principle after the credit check and we're now uploading documents.

The only issue is that I can see they’ve made some errors on the app: things like a length of time in job being wrong, “216” owed on a loan being written as “260,” field of employment being incorrect.

Our broker assures is this won’t have an impact, but I'm quite an anxious person!

Are these likely to cause issues? I understand stuff gets keyed in wrong, just trying to get ahead of any admin drama down the line.

There's nothing which would negatively impact affordability and we're asking to borrow well within what the lender’s calculator suggests we can afford. All the details on our credit history are accurate.

Thanks so much and appreciate any steer!

    The lender is...?

Amount owed on loan doesn't matter as long as the monthly payment is correct. Field of employment?

  • Sorry - should have said up top. Bank of Ireland.

Profession is correct but field is wrong - literally next one down in drop-down.

Monthly payment is off - it’s higher on the app than in reality, luckily, think 260 written down not 216. Hoping it’s alright as it’s not miles out or an extra payment not declared, but can ring the lender to correct if you think it’s worth doing.

    Appreciate your time and insight!

Job types, sometimes we just have to choose the closest from a list.
Length of time in job, how far out is it? Most lenders are only interested in the last year or 2, so providing you fit criteria it should not be a major issue.

  • It’s years out but the job length is over two years so hopefully all good!
