Blocking Father's Credit Score

Hello, I have an Lasting Power of Attorney for my father who has early onset dementia.
I have managed to block all his activity with the bank because he was squandering money on dubious dating apps.
However he can still obtain credit cards and is running up significant debts £15,000 so far.

I'm trying to find out how I can ask for his credit score be blocked to prevent him from obtaining a credit card and running up thousands of pounds of debt.
I've contacted plenty of support groups but I just need to know how I put a marker his credit rating to stop him getting more credit.

How do I stop him from being able to obtain credit cards.

I have no personal experience in dealing with this group but they may be able to help.

If you have activated the POA , you sent the documents to the bank(s) and get his bank and credit cards etc in your name with POA marked on them. His existing cards then become obsolete. It is then down to you to entirely manage his financial affairs.
When I did this for a friend I withdrew a specific amount of cash once a week so he had funds for buying his newspaper, a pint in his local and some top up shopping. Everything else was controlled by me.
Once the bank/ credit card account is marked POA and they are aware the original account holder has dementia and is vulnerable they should cease accepting his requests for credit and insist on dealing with you.

Activating POA doesn't in itself involve the donor losing access to their accounts, but OP's father's bank should be able to add the relevant notes to facilitate this if that's what's needed, and may indeed have done this already ("I have managed to block all his activity with the bank").

However, the issue as I understand it isn't so much his existing bank but the fact that he's successfully applying to new providers.  I'd suggest OP arranging for a Notice of Correction to be added to dad's three credit files, a process recommended for problem gamblers who are in a similar situation of needing obstacles to be placed in the way of obtaining credit:
