No you do not need to notify anyone. HMRC will know you gave 2 jobs whent you are taxed on two wages.

You must, however, make sure 2nd job knows you have another job for tax purposes.

Does 1st job require you to tell them about 2nd?

And what do you expect annual income from each job to be? You may be able to split tax code between them.

Don't waste your time, HMRC aren't interested in you telling them that.

What needs to happen is you complete a new starter declaration with your new employer and they then report your pay to HMRC.

At which point HMRC will be aware you have two jobs and will make any updates needed to your tax code.
  • As stated above, there is no need to notify any tax authority yourself as they'll figure it out once the payments start and make any appropriate changes if needed.

However, if for any reason this doesn't happen or you'd still like to notify them anyway, this can all be done through HMRC's online services once you've received your first payslip from the new job (as long as you're signed up for online access). The process will take a couple of minutes and will need a few pieces of basic information such as the employer's name, your estimated income, and a couple of details from the payslip.
