PCM PCN residential area. Driver didn’t leave the vehicle

High off the back of a court dismissal- thanks to this forum! The same day I received a PCM PCN for being parked with a restricted area! In a residential area with a couple of electric bays which I parked behind. From inside the car I could not see any signs relating to parking restrictions. I was there for around 15 minutes and did not get out of the car as I was collecting someone. I appealed admitting I was the driver (Urgh I know I should have come back on here first!) They have rejected my appeal. I've taken some pix of the signage and the entrance which is off a busy one way system so no time to stop and look for signs on entering.
If I leave this to go all the way to court, would my defence be weak?
Is it worth appealing to IAS or contacting he landowner?
Im close to the 14 days ‘reduced’ amount and wondering the best route out? Please and thank you 😊

It may be time for you to go back to the Newbies/FAQ thread and review all the advice in there. You need to treat that thread as a reference which you keep referring back to every time you have a question.
All the defence templates advised on here are robust and make any claim by these bottom-dwelling scammers worthwhile defending. Anyone paying these private parking firms is marked as a "mug" for future targeting. Plan A is always advised. Contact the landowner and also make a complaint about the PPC to your MP.
In this case, Plan B was screwed up by your own admission. But we are where we are. Plan C, is futile as you are dealing with the IAS who are notorious for refusing appeals against their members.
So, should it go all the way to Plan D, then the advice is yes, let it go all the way and defend robustly as advised. You have already seen that over 99% of claims defended robustly with advice from here are either won in court or discontinued before they ever get there, as in your case. Do you want to be a 1 percenter?1 -
Was the person you picked up a resident of the building(s) attached to the car park? From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"2 -
As above you need to follow the newbies thread again which you seem to have forgotten about."If I leave this to go all the way to court, would my defence be weak"How can we know that without knowing what your defence is exactly?Forget about not getting out of the car it's not a defence against anything, in fact they could say you should have got out of the car to read the signage. What was their reason for issuing the PCN?What do the signs actually say?Do the signs actually form a contract?

Thanks all. I'll refer back to newbies thread.
@Half_way no the person I was collecting wasn't a resident.
@fisherjim reason for PCN was 'parked within a restricted area'
I've attached a pic of the sign.0 -
You should go and take a picture without any zoom in similar lighting conditions as on the day you received the PCN and from the viewpoint of where you were actually parked.3

Defences v PPCs are never weak.
Their signage is weak if you take less clear photos.
Your case is like this one:

This may help the driver to make better brief stopping decisions (for passengers or loading/unloading) in future, if they are one of the many UK drivers who wrongly think they "can't stop on street because it's all yellow lines":
Always read signs, whether stopping on street or (ALWAYS LAST RESORT) on private land - and never, ever seek out or enter a car park to pick up or drop off a passenger.
Picking up and setting down passengers could and should always be done on-street. Was the driver unaware that this is what on-street double yellow lines are there for for ... picking up and dropping off passengers is specifically allowed?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

That sign looks like it is quite high up on a wall above a door or window perhaps?
Did you need a step ladder as well as a magnifying glass to read it?1
