Link Financial & Moorcroft Debt Recovery

I have an old default from a number of years ago from a credit card. As I am now in a better financial situation I am trying to settle old debts and make these repayments.
When I check my Credit report it shows that this debt has now been sold to Link Financial but I am receiving letters from Moorcroft Debt recovery. I’m guessing that Moorcroft are a subsidiary of Link but my question is should I deal with Moorcroft or try and get in contact with Link financial directly for a quicker resolution.
What I shall attempt to do is negotiate a pay to delete settlement with them as a friend of mine was in a similar situation and managed to negotiate a complete removal from his credit file in exchange for a full settlement of the owed amount.

How many years ago did it default? It disappears automatically after 6 years. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Link own your debt and have assigned it to Moorcroft as collection agent.
So any attempt to contact link will result in them telling you to to go via Moorcroft.
Settlement offers are possible, but you will be extremely lucky to get a default removed, however its always worth asking.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
