Hi
My sister is getting married in Cyprus in 2024 - We have priced up with Tui and it's around £1200 per person per week AI.
We have no kids and most of the others going do so I was considering staying at a nearby Adults Only hotel and attending the wedding/purchasing a day pass to their hotel which is apparently possible. This will also allow us to do what we want and go B&B/half board.
I can't look into flights and other hotels as it's still too early (but Tui can book that far in advance). I've opted to wait a while before booking but my wife is concerned we'll end up paying much more.

While it would be nice to have a private holiday as well as be able to attend price is a big factor.
Any perspectives?

I don't think you will have any problem booking in August of this year when it becomes possible to book flights. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Surely if they wanted all their friends and family around them at their wedding they would get married in the UK where everyone can attend at minimal cost and inconvenience ? Are you sure they really want people at their wedding ?

Do you have any advice that will help the OP?
Disliking AI holidays, I'd do as you are thinking.
If it was me, I'd book as soon as the hotel & flights were available to ensure I got what I wanted, after all - you do want to attend the wedding.
Jet2 are also advertising Aug 2024 holidays.
You could also look at Easyjet and check out all the airlines that fly to Cyprus - you don't say where you want to fly from or which Cyprus airport you want to fly into.0 -

Too many variables here such as weather and it's a chance for them to have a holiday too.
Flying to Phaphos. Manchester would be best this end.
I'll check out EJ and J2. Thanks.0 -
If you have a little bit of flexibility on dates and which place you want to stay then you'll have loads of options to Paphos no doubt cheaper than the TUI deal so no need to panic now.
Ryanair do that route I know.
If you specifically wanted the hotel where the wedding will be and hard dates around the wedding I'd probably say bite the bullet and book as soon as you can just to be safe, but that doesn't seem to be your situation.0 -
I think your idea of staying somewhere else, is a very good one. You may be able to reserve the hotel now and the flights in August of this year, as soon as they become available.
I would fly out a couple of days before the wedding 'just in case'. Enjoy the wedding and then relax for a few days after. Sounds perfect. Do pile on the sun cream or stay out of the sun before the wedding.1
