in Cutting tax
Looking for some advice please. The wife started a new job end of Feb and handed in her p45. Was paid at the end of March with correct tax code of 1265L CUMUL.Theres been no change to her hours etc. this month but tax code is now 500T CUMUL. On her just above nmw salary she has paid £197.40 in tax! Any ideas? Cheers all

Could it be that HMRC thinks that your wife has two jobs - perhaps they received notification of a new employment before notification of the ending of the old one?
Has she had a look at her personal tax account?

To be fair this situation seems always to be the norm now.
Why am I not surprised? Does any public or private organisation work efficiently now?
