Why do they do this?

Are you telling me that someone gets up and puts FIFTEEN pillows/cushions on their bed each day?
Why would someone even have that many pillows on one bed?
(Every room was like this, btw, with different cushions).
This isn't even getting into the "love", "eat", signs and putting a little pile of towels on the toilet lid etc..

Due to various social media sites a lot more people are taking a great pride in their houses.
Some call it staged but others like what they call a "show home"
Of course if this is a property for sale and on Rightmove why wouldn't someone max out the potential of their house?
I get followed round with a dust buster

It's for potential buyers who don't know what a bed with pillows on looks like, so they can visualise having a bed with an insane amount of pillows and cushions on it, which will obviously persuade them to buy the house.
It may also be to deflect attention from the hideous wallpaper, or the fact their headboard doesn't match anything else in the room....7 -
And how does the person on the right of the bed watch the TV ? or either of them see past the ugly lamp?0

Also... what is going on with the wallpaper, why is it not cut straight at the end, it looks like they have wrapped it around the corner then torn it off0

Its supposed to be aspirational and luxurious…. All fur coat and no knickers springs to mind! Now the real question is why the wardrobe handles arent in the middle of the doors.3

Call me obsessive but I shudder at the thought of putting my face onto pillows that yesterday were in the way and spent all night on the carpet. Carpets surely have bugs in them?
Some people flush without first putting the lid down and if it’s true that nasties aerosol up out of the pan surely some of it will settle on the clean towels? Ew.
would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

Some top notch critique in this thread. Especially on the telly position and so on.Due to various social media sites a lot more people are taking a great pride in their houses.

What exact purpose does that serve? Surely it isn't "normal".
Sure I get "make the bed, put the pillows (two!) in place, clean the shower and bathroom up so no greasy marks, crayon on the walls" etc. etc. But some seem to go a bit overboard at trying to overcompensate. Surely this person doesn't get up every day, make the bed, then stuff it absolutely full of cushions..2 -
Please feel free to share a picture of your bedroom for critique?

You’re lucky they didnt go the full hog and have the artfully draped throw and mirrored tea tray on the bottom of the bed.1
