Advice on whether to go Solar

Hi all,
I am in the process of getting quotes for solar panels and it's hard to know whether to go ahead or not.
I constantly think I will miss out on new technology, however I am missing out on savings.
Some info on usage, I use 4600kW per year (est) and 2 people in a 4 bed house and both WFH.
After some quotes, it is likely we will get 12/13 panels at the most on a south facing roof, pitched at 35%, which I believe is optimal. We will also get a 6kw battery.
It's so hard to know what panels are the best to go with and I have had quotes from My Home Solar and Project Solar.
Project Solar sold it amazingly and have all the warranties you need, but the cost is crazy at 17.5k.
Please give your thoughts on best panels/battery and rough prices based on the info above.
Thanks!

Well you’re right about Project Solar’s quote- daylight robbery! To give you an idea- I’ve just had the system in my signature fitted for £9500 so almost half and that’s with a 50% bigger battery. What was the other quote and whereabouts are you based? My installer was a local firm and his quote was £3k better than the more regional/National firms.Smart Tech Specialist with Octopus Energy Services (all views my own). 4.44kW SW Facing in-roof array with 3.6kW Givenergy Gen 2 Hybrid inverter and 9.5kWh Givenergy battery. 9kW Panasonic Aquarea L (R290) ASHP. #gasfree since July ‘231

Thank you @DougMLancs
We are in Essex and had in mind 10k or a bit more if we need more panels and bigger battery.
But thank you for coming back to me though.16 x 410w (6.6kw) Sharp panels, 5kw inverter and 6.5kw battery installed in May 2023.0 -
Agree. Your quote is a con!
Here are the only brands I recommend:
Panels: Sharp/ Hyundai/ REC/ Solarwatt/ Panasonic
Inverters: Solaredge/ Enphase/ Fronius/ GiveEnergy
or
Battery inverters: Tesla Powerwall/ Myenergi Libbi (my pick) or GivEnergy
Always go with the installer who offers brands with long warranties and good reputations (who actually honour them - this rules out most Chinese brands). There are many who will sing something to the tune of "I have them...they've worked fine", but this omits multiple failures others have experienced often with zero semblance of customer service from the brand or the installer.
