Part exchange offer with another property to sell

Hello, I have to make a decision and I’m looking for some advice please. I have a part exchange offer on a property from a builder but we have to also sell the property we live in before October, if, in worst case scenario this doesn’t happen, is it too late to pull out of the purchase and part exchange? Will there be consequences?

You can pull out up to the point where you exchange contracts. The seller can do the same, so there is always the risk the seller will find a buyer with less baggage to worry about.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
