Refunded income tax for last year only to now owe?
I finished working at my previous job last year and worked two months on SSP, I received a Tax Rebate.
However I have now been told I didn't pay enough tax last year and so they are taking it this year (change of tax code)
Can someone explain how this can happen and what I can do about it as it seems absurd!!
Thanks in advance

Things can change during a tax year so it's not all that unusual.
Was the tax refund paid with the SSP by your employer?
What have you received to say you owe tax for 2022-23?0 -
