Good Morning everyone, such sad news of the loss of one of the stalwarts of MSE.Our Nelski
I was lucky enough to meet her many years ago when we had a meeting in Blackpool ,and boy what a great deal of fun and laughter went on during that weekend .There was a great deal giggling and imbibing of wine of both sorts red and white and indeed a few G&T's as well.
Today the world is a sadder greyer place, as her light has gone I was very lucky to be her 'adopted Mum' and we still kept in touch even though I lived in deepest Kent and she was 'The lass in the north'
She brought light and laughter to many on here ,and so much help to her 'oldies befriending' that she did even though she really wasn't't well.
Today when her beloved 'James' her favourite chef and secret 'pash' has his programme on TV I shall remember a lovely lady I was proud to call a friend and even prouder to call my 'adopted daughter'
So RIP Nels, you will be missed more than you know I shall raise (in my case because of medication ) a large cuppa and drink your health lovely lady, I'm so glad I got to know you and call you a friend
JackieOvery sad , but happy to have called you a friend for so long in Kent this rainy morning xxx

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's a grey start here, but dry. I suppose the inevitable rain will turn up eventually.
I was shocked last night to read of Nelski's passing - as Gers said, we didn't realise how ill she really was.
I'm sure we'll all be thinking of her today.
Take care folks.10 -
I'm back. It's another glorious morning here, it's unnerving really, it's been such a dreadful winter that I'm not convinced it's over yet. After a very grey start yesterday the weather cleared up beautifully showing such brilliant blue skies. My friends went off on bikes again. In the early evening we sat out in the front garden of their cottage soaking in the long sunset. Two drinking wine, two on beer and the chap up the hill having a couple of drams. We stayed out there until the sun moved behind Jura, and then a bit longer. Evening meal was a very tasty chicken curry made by my friend, unfortunately it made its presence felt again in the middle of the night. 😀
Today my friends are leaving for home, I'll miss them whilst enjoying the quiet life again until my adventures start again in early May. 😀
My thoughts are with all our poorlies and missing. Losing one of our wee community is just awful.Happy Saturday to all.9 -
Morning folks and what a lovely morning it is, blue sky and sun.
I am still reeling over the shock yesterday of reading the news of our loss of dear NELS. It's so very sad and she will be sadly miissed on here. Tonight I am making the Nigella recipe she recommended a year or two back - the orzo risotto. It's still a favourite of mine and I will raise a glass of wine to her.
Must dash now off on the bus to town and maybe onwards up the valley bottom. Take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -

Morning allJust got back from shopping to get a few bits I didn't have time to get yesterday as my hairdresser was coming mid morning and after she'd gone I couldn't be bothered to go out! Come back to read the very sad news about Nelski. As a lurker I used to enjoy her posts and she always put a smile on my face with her humour. Some lovely tributes on here showing how much she was loved and appreciated. Sleep well Nelski xx10

Morning All
Like all of you I'm still shocked at the passing of Nelski, she will be sorely missed.
Been for a swim, mile 17 in the bag. Going to meet DD, her Fiance and the little one for brunch in Glasgow in a while - my present to Fiance for his birthday earlier in the week.
Hope you can all have a good day. Take care. XX8 -
Morning everyone such sad news about Nelski she will be a miss . It’s bright but chilly here I don’t know where the promised warm temperatures have gone we went to a big butchers a few mile away it used to be cheap and you could bulk buy a lot of things I won’t be going again it was expensive I spent twenty pounds on some things that were on offer but not impressed going to give the little dog a good walk later and I have some housework to do I’ve had a line full of washing out since 7 it’s not doing much drying but there’s plenty of time yet . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10
