Hi NeutrinoLight
Sorry if my post was a bit abrupt.
There was very little advice when you took out your DMP in 2003, and many people didn't have email or access to the internet, so finding out about free advice was hit and miss.
But if you've been paying back all these years and funding your DMP providers profits, you are entitled to some slack.
Few of your creditors will even have had compliant CCAs when you started your DMP, based on the numbers when I joined 15 years ago. Others will have lost the paperwork since.
And if you are on pension credit, a good few of those who do have documentation close the account based on affordability rules when you explain the situation.
You may need a few of those settlement letters, but some people here have had almost all their debts cancelled.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I never default a payment so I guess none of the debts could ever be statute barred.I'd like to speak to someone to clarify my doubts but I guess only paid agencies would be available to speak.
I have not yet informed my DMP that I'll end my plan so not sure it's okay to make a settlement offer myself without first cancelling them..
I'm at the verge of a nervous breakdown, anyway, I hope I survive this..
Thank you
I can understand your frustration with it all, but there is a defined process to follow when making settlement offers, and it`s so important you do things in the right order, otherwise your friends money may be wasted, when you could so easily have either settled these debts for peanuts, or even perhaps nothing.
This gifted cash won`t settle everything you owe, so you must manipulate the odds back in your favour, I have outlined how this is done in previous posts, I can`t make you follow advice, obviously, but I hate seeing someone suffer needlessly because they are uncertain of how to proceed, when the process is really easy to follow.
Please go back and read this thread over again before you do anything else.
