Day Out Poem PLEASE

Hi,

I've ordered tickets for wicksteed Park, Kettering (has train rides, water flumes etc) for my nephews to go in their "day out" hamper and they havent arrived :(
I've phoned several times and now they are being resent, but I'll be going to give them their pressies tomorrow :(

Could anyone think of a short poem to add to their hamper to replace their tickets until they arrive?...I'd be really grateful.

Many thanks

What are their ages? What do they like doing? Do you want a poem that specifically relates to a day out or trains?
  • Thanks for your reply.

They are 8 and 6 and I would really like it to relate to the day out. Heres the website of the place I have bought tickets for if thats any help.

It's not very good but you could distract them with lots of pretty pictures. Feel free to modify or ignore completely:

    Swing high, swing low
Slide down fast, here we go!
    Step aboard the steam train
    Paddle on the lake
    Ride on fairground horses
    Lovely memories to make
    Spin on flying teacups
    Bash in dodgem cars
    You are fantastic nephews
    Two bright and twinkling sparks
We hope you will have lots of fun
On your day to Wicksteed Park
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

The Night Train by W.H. Auden is a classic, especially if it can be read to them with a chug-chug-chug train rhythm.
