Help Required - Removal of Second Charge from Deeds - Elderbridge

I am currently trying to get a second charge removed from my deeds. The loan was repaid 2017 and we are having a hard time getting it removed. Is there a legal responsibility on the loan company to remove the legal charge when the loan is paid as we have 2 charges one with First Plus and one with Elderbridge who bought the debt from First Plus. Elderbridge have said they can ask First Plus to remove their change but cant make them as there are a different company. Also would anyone know the process re getting second charges removed from your deeds in Northern Ireland and is it possible for us to get the charge removed by ourselves if we show evidence the loan has been paid.
