HMRC NIC RECEIPT account name not an option with HSBC

Having eventually got through to Future Pensions this morning I now have the necessary 18 digit reference and account details to pay for missing year 2016 - 2017, however when I fill in the sort code and account number on internet banking HSBC come up with options for account name HMRC NI Deficiency or HMRC NICO and not HMRC NIC RECEIPT which is what I was given.  Probably overthinking things, but should I go back to check with HMRC that the account is correct?  HSBC have not really been much help either online or in person ...

We had the same issue a few months back.

Do what I did when we paid for my wife's 10 years.

Pay via the HMRC site rather than from HSBC.

The reference used then and appears on  the  bank payment is the NICO one I am pretty sure.  I think both have the same sort and account numbers anyway?

It worked, as her GovGateway account NI record has been updated now.

I too paid via HMRC's website (for the first time) and all worked well - even easier than doing a bank transfer.

I was trying to be organised and setting up a payment for mid July when I know I will have the cash in the bank to make the payment.  I have now set myself up a dary note to make the transfer manually via the HMRC website as you and @pinnks suggest
