Response from PRA to my request for information, does their response mean we can stop payments.

I have received the response in the photo from PRA when we made a request for information. The sentences 'Until this is received I have placed your account on hold which will cease any further collections activity until further notice.'
I have a DMP with step change so I rang them but they said we still need to phone PRA and check that they don't want payments, then phone them back. I don't want to stir PRA into any sort of action so would rather just follow the letter received.
The debt is a default credit card and is over 6 years old so no longer on any credit file.
Thoughts please, thanks in advance

The debt remains unenforceable until such time they produce what you have asked for.
You can stop paying if you want to.
If it’s over 6 years old, could it be statute barred, have you paid it within those 6 years ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Yes, we have paid each month, through a dmp. I just wondered what they meant by putting the account on hold for collection activities, the wording is not straight forward, trying to work out if they are saying there is no need to pay for now. Stepchange asked us to confirm this before stopping payments. I have emailed PRA but no response yet.sourcrates said:The debt remains unenforceable until such time they produce what you have asked for.

We have also made the information request to Link about 4 weeks ago but have had no response from them. Not sure how long to wait.0 -
Is Link a separate debt?
If so, they have failed to comply with a s77-79 request and their debt is now a lower priority, being unenforceable. You can stop paying both.
Well done for sending a £1 payment in order to comply with the Consumer Credit Act1 -
Thank you, with these 2 being currently unenforceable we have no other debts.fatbelly said:Is Link a separate debt?

Cancelled DMP with the option to restart should the documents appear. Stepchange seemed to think that once they had missed the time frame to respond that was it, it could not be enforced in the future but from what I have read that is not the case.0

Its unenforceable until they supply the correct paperwork, in the prescribed form, however long that may take.Roxy71 said:Cancelled DMP with the option to restart should the documents appear. Once they do provide it, as long as what they send you is compliant, the account becomes enforceable again.
Unfortunately there is no way to predict how long this will take, expect it to be months rather than weeks.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
