Hi,
I've been checking my NI contributions via the Gov website and discovered there is no record of my last job tax year 21/22. No income, no tax or NI paid at all recorded for that employment. I was there for a year March to March. I have payslips, not all but most of them and a P45 for this time but suspect they may be fraudulent. I heard rumours past employees NI wasn't being paid. I had problems upon leaving for my current job getting my last pay and holiday pay as did others.
Is there anything I can do? I have no NI contributions for the nearly full year I was there apart from the 1st month at my current employer as I started in March. Can they investigate and make them pay?
Thank you

Does your on line tax account show you as being employed for that period ?You need to speak to HMRC and query you have nothing showing for that year.

Hi, no online record of income, income tax or NI from that employer for that period at all. They have my current employer for the month March to April for that year but no record at all of my previous job.

That's between HMRC and the "employer".
The real problem is the wages not being reported in the first place.
You might be best sending copies of your payslips to HMRC with full details of how the employer is/was so they can investigate.
Not having details for NI (and therefore State Pension) purposes is probably the biggest issue.0 -
It's possible you have a duplicate tax record, which all that employer's paye have gone against.
You need to phone hmrc with that p45 in hand.
They'll need the employers paye tax number which is quoted on the p451 -
To update HMRC have recently got back to me having found a work record for my previous employer with a temporary NI number and a variation of my name. I just need to ask the previous employer to update their records, which won't be possible as there is a long standing feud between them and my current employer. It is completely unprofessional but such is life. I am hoping the P45 I was provided with is genuine and will provide enough proof that I am the person that the employee record they have belongs to.
In the mean time I have had a not insignificant tax rebate from my current employer for the last financial year. As have other employees and we are concerned that something is going on. There is a lot going on that I won't go in to. I'm friends with the admin staff and there are some alarming details. The good news is going forward we will have a new owner that I have worked with before and trust. Fingers crossed for a brighter and more above board future soon!Best wins; GoPro, £2K, Brittany week, festival tix twice, Bath break, Sweden spa break, iPhone x2, £250 Amazon x2, tech bundle, 55" TV, Haven break, £1K, Smeg mixer, 3 night spa break, Greenhouse, posh tent, house plants, 2 pairs boots, posh mattress, year tailored supps, £250 lingerie, £150 buyagift, £250 hotel0 -
