Increasing Hours Prior to Maternity Leave in the NHS?

Can anyone tell me if its possible to increase hours prior to going on mat leave in the NHS in order to increase full and half pay while on maternity leave?

Depends how pregnant you are
The NHS works out the "Full Pay" to be used using the same method as Stat maternity pay does which is based on the 8 weeks, that lead up to the "Qualifying week" which is15th week before the baby is due.
So if you were to up your earnings during those 8 weeks you would up your maternity pay.
How possible is that? I do not know if bank work would count
