Sick pay/holiday pay

Hi, my wife works 4 days a week - Tuesday, Thursday - Saturday. She was approved for holidays that Thursday to Saturday just passed there but was off work Ill on the Tuesday. Her boss has only paid her sick pay and told her that her holiday balance will be reimbursed but surely she should get her 3 days holiday paid in full? She is paid weekly as well so has left us short when we weren’t expecting it!

Did she let them know on the Wednesday she was no longer ill or was she still off sick for the days she’d booked as holiday
 It sounds as if they’re presuming she was off sick all week  so if she wasn’t she should have let them know.

If she was off sick all week then the employer has acted correctly.

Was she ill on Thurs to Sat?  If not then she should be on holiday and paid for that.  At least that's what's happened in any of the large companies I've worked for.

Hi thanks for all the replies! Well we went away on holiday on Friday until today so she knew we were on holiday and she was fine. What I didn’t know is that while speaking to her boss on Tuesday to say she was Ill she told her just to take the Thursday off as well as sick, because she was off on holiday the Friday and Saturday anyway. All on a phone call so not able to back that up of course. Sorry I presumed three days were holidays but just spoke again to my wife after all your replies.
