Web site listing all available mortgages/interest rates etc?

Is there a web site that lists all the current mortgage rates across all banks/buildling societies etc...?

Am sure I have used one in the past (years ago), and I found it quite useful to quickly compare available mortgages/interest rates etc..
I was also able to filter the list by entering which type I wanted to look at , fixed/tracker/variable, the term, fee or no fee etc. etc..
Similar to what each bank provides, but it covered the whole market.

But can't seem to find one now :-(

I have a fairly simple re-mortgage need - £45k (7% of house value), and probably seeking a cheap tracker rate.

I have used mortgage brokers in the past, and will probably use one this time too.  But....in the past, I have found a cheaper rate than I was advised about, even though it was totally suitable for my situation.

I've tried a few comparison sites, but after entering all my information (again) they just provide their recommended mortgages.
But I want to be able to just review ALL the available mortgages and compare for myself.
And it's a pain to have to log in to every individual building society etc to see what they are offering....

I doubt it as there are a number of deals that are packager specific. So, only the brokers that offer those would have them available.  So, any list will be limited to whatever distribution channel you are looking at.

If such a list existed free of charge, mortgage brokers wouldn't need to pay for software that does that.

Some mortgage brokers have limited panels.  Others have a much wider, near whole of market availability.  No-one can get 100% whole of market as some lenders do not transact via brokers.    So, its who you see rather than just "mortgage broker".

  • OK, thanks for your feedback.

I hadn't thought about using multiple brokers.  I have used Habito several times in the past.

But I appreciate that no one is going to have 100% coverage, even the brokers.  (Is presumably similar to insurance brokers, whereby no one broker covers ALL possible products, so you are recommended to use multiple brokers.)

Is there any recommended list of mortgage brokers to approach (similar to the recommended list on here for insurance comparison sites)?

Am still wondering what sites I used in the past (albeit probably 4 or so years ago now) that listed a LOT of mortgage products to compare (albeit I accept it probably wasn't 100%).

If you are straight forward, you do not need to be calling multiple brokers.
It is generally speaking some of the estate agent based brokers who class themselves as whole of market but only have maybe 20 lenders.

Speak to the broker, if they tell you they have more than maybe 60-70 lenders, unless you have some very very quirky set of circumstances they are all going to be able to help. We have about 85 lenders, I doubt I have used even half of them in 10 years.

Some lenders don't allow brokers to access their products
Some lenders only allow brokers to use their products
Some lenders give exclusive rates to some brokers and not others
Some brokers access more lenders than others

    Its a frustrating industry
