B&Q reduced xmas decorations & trees, up to 75%

Excellent bargains - xmas stockings now £1.22 instead of £4.x, fibre optic lighted twig things now about £6 from £20, xmas labels now 24p for 60, fresh xmas bouquets now 50p from £4.98.
Suddenly it feels like xmas!

B&Q, Focas or Homebase stores in & around northampton and wellingborough and can confirm any reduced xmas bargains please.

I need to get myself in the christmas spirit and get some bargains, as have saved money to buy lights and decorations as late as possible. Kids break up from school this afternoon, so hoping to go shopping in the next hour and surprise them.

Lots to be had at Bournemouth Castlepoint B&Q (if you can get in/out of the car park!!), including decorations that actually have a nativity scene on them! Yay, Christmassy things at Christmas time!

Northampton B&Q waste of time at the moment.
Had a big sign saying up to 75% off selected decorations , but I found nothing less than 1/2 price and the trees still mostly full price and really expensive (£99 the one I liked!)
Most had no price on at all - I didn't enquire how much they were - I suppose it's possible that they are reduced but not marked yet.

Chorley B&Q have some 50% some 75% things. Folks got a mini tree in a pot for £6 instead of £13. I got wrappin paper at 36p a roll. Lights n decorations still around

The only thing which looked worh buying was the wrapping paper and that was sold out in my local branch. Most of the other items didn't attract me at 50 - 75% off in fact some I wouldn't have taken if they gave them away. Homebase was even worse - I wouldn't rush to get them.

This is a common trate umongst the B&Q stores that marking reductions are not high up the pecking order.
This was verified on my visit to Eastleigh store today where the Christmas stock has the up to 75% banner displayed, though no product marked further than half price - that is until you get them price checked and find they are selling cheaper.
I price checked a fibre optic village which had no reduction marked and priced on the shelf at £29.99, though scans at £7 something.

My advice is to grab a member of staff with a telson (hand computer thing) and get them to scan the products you want - this will tell you the scanning price.

Note: it's common for stores to do their final reductions Christmas Eve - these are the ones which come out of the store budget - the price reductions to date are head office reductions - hence will be variable store to store.
