I have been shredding my till receipts and putting them in my composters.

Recently, I have read that some contain BPA and should not be composted.

Do you compost yours?

Nope. Not a bad idea though.
I know that some have a glossy finish for the cheaper printer.
I wonder if the endless paper and old bills would compost? Every page is stamped with all your personal details and its on premium thick  paper.
Snails love paper but I've noticed they don't so much these days. Perhaps there's something in it.

I've tried to soak my paper work to destroy the print but it doesn't work and it should.
I found burning quicker and the ash goes on the fruit bed.
Plus recently it gets me warm  :)

    I compost some shredded paper.

I understand that the thermal till receipts are not suitable for composting.

    I may be incorrect.

Is the thermal paper the slightly shiny paper?

    Yes, they basically contain plastic

I always take one though n case I get stopped at the exit by an overzealous security guard

So non-shiny receipts are okay to shred and put in the composter?

I believe so - just normal paper.
Not sure we see those much anymore.

I think I will be better off shredding all receipts, putting them in a compstable bag, tying the bag up and putting in my wheelie bin.

Or do you put them in loose?

Any shredded paper that I can't compost, I put in the Council paper recycling collection

You're lucky, ours does not accept shredded paper
