In all fairness, for some songs there just isnt much to say. I did music tech/audio engineering up to degree level, (and fit my fair share of freelance mixing for small bands demos and the like) before I got sick, and am fairly used to taking apart and evaluating a track over 3500+ words... but still some of the c**p on that site has me wishing I could just write... "It was awful, and poorly mixed to boot, you might not be able to polish a t*rd but you could at least bring it up to 'average' with a little effort". Some of the vocals in particular are horrendous! A couple of tracks took me 10 mins or more to review since I felt there should be at least one constructive point!
Despite the above rant though, I'm really enjoying the site, I've heard my some pretty decent bands, from the original to the commercial but well executed, and its got me back into listening to music and really concentrating on what I'm hearing, something I've avoided doing since I became ill.... so hurrah to Misspixie for this thread, otherwise I'd have forgotten all about the old one and never tried it :T0 -
Still get stuck on that same track.....annoyingNeil0

Hi everyone
Just catching up on the questions that i've missed
Unfortunately you cant choose specific genres your just played whatever genre is up at the time, when a new scout room opend it generally has certain types of music in it
For example when i joined in november there was indie/rock then there was all generes 1 (which included hip hop) then uk bands (which is what we have now)
The next scout room will be all genres 2 so i would imagine is back with the hip hop and everything else under the sun
Oooh is it close ? bah that means were all gonna have to wait a few days maybe 3/4 untill the new one comes up0 -
I think I will have a go at this (when the scout room re-opens). I will aim for about £20 for the first month as have joined in between scout rooms and have no idea yet how much time I need to spend on it.
How long does a scout room stay open for, usually?0 -
