Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Air feels cold this morning.

Dinner last night was gammon, egg and chips/salad LO's so will chose what we're having tonight later. Hairdresser coming tonight too.
Work was very busy yesterday morning but then was easier in the afternoon. Today and tomorrow is going to be very busy.

Morning all. Thanks for starting us off nmlc. All my washing dried well in stiff breeze yesterday, not much sun and no heat at all but a nice enough day. As it all flapped away I went out to the country store for the big bags of peanuts and sunflower hearts. I also bought a couple of new feeders to replace the scraggy ones. Once I'd put out some sunflowers hearts I was immediately rewarded by seeing an adult woodpecker on it. 😀 Last June two adults and a chick came in every day so I'm hoping a repeat this year. Such immense joy.My meal was more salad, this time with egg as I boiled up the six which had been lingering too long. A quick check of each in a jug of water was done first, it's always surprising how long they last.Updating my banking didn't happen yesterday, it will be done today. I've got an appointment with a physio at lunchtime, I'm so excited about it. Maybe I'm hoping for too much, I just want to be more mobile and have less pain. 🤞🤞
Happy Tuesday to all.11 -
Morning all
Very cold here but sunny I have put the heating on for an hour to warm the place through, two guests coming today and we are off to the cinema to see Dungeons and dragons not my choice of film but I’m sure at least one of them will love it, the other one is likely to fall asleep as he tends to if he sits for any length of time 😃
Dinner tonight will be creamy garlic chicken from the PON book I made the sauce up yesterday while cooking yesterdays dinner so just the chicken to cook tonight, I also made a chilli for tomorrow night very organised this week !I put a wash on last night so will hang that out this morning it’s sunny so it should dry well.
Rosy how awful for you all, I hope it’s quickly sorted xxx
Its my dd’s first day at her new job today, it’s at a home for children who have been abused, she is a senior team leader and it’s a good pay rise, she has worked in that field for years so she will be fine, but it felt like she was off to her first day at school this morning 😂
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's another day of blue sky and sun but by heck it's cold! Even in the sun yesterday there was no warmth brr. I actually ventured into the front garden but not much tidying was done before I was back indoors frozen stiff!
It's DD's 50th birthday today. How old?!! Surely that can't be, I'm only 50 myself! She has had 4 nights out already to celebrate with various acquaintances and today she is away for an overnight with lovely chap and 2 youngest DGD. They are away to a lodge with a hot tub near to York. Dinner and then a soak in the hot tub tonight and then tomorrow, weather permitting, they are going into York before heading back home at tea-time. They may bump into SCARLET!!
I am meeting my DF for lunch today but sadly BFF is no longer fit to join us. She is failing so fast, it's unbelievable. Now in the bed downstairs (too weak to tackle the stairs), mobility really bad and even using her phone is beyond her. It's all so sad considering how fit and alert she was before the lump was found just 12 months ago.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. Take care and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning everyone
Sunny and cold here. Yesterday was lovely - I did some tidying in the back garden and then sat and read my paper for a while. It was quite warm - warmer than it was indoors at the front of the house. The only thing was everyone else was outside too - council men strimming and cutting, others cutting grass, someone hammering, someone else drilling and noisy children. I'm quite happy to hear children playing but these ones always sound like they're killing each other...then their mum screams at them....then one of them cries, you get the picture!
No plans today other than doing some tidying. Just remembered I've got all the dirty rainsuits and aprons from nursery so I'll stick them in the wash - they'll dry outside today.
TA - so sad to hear about your friend
Redruby - I hope he doesn't snore! Good luck to your daughter
Gers - good luck for the physio...same to Izzy for weight watchers
I'd better move...hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all, another gorgeous day but lots of scraping windscreens earlier. I had a lovely walk in the park yesterday and met someone I know from when the DSons were at primary school. Haven't seen her since lockdown. She was with her daughter and asked if I wanted to join them to carry on chatting so we did another circuit of the park together. Also had a stop to talk to an older neighbour on the way back- I needed a big glug of water once home!Gers and everyone else who mentioned it ,thanks for all your kind thoughts yesterday re the banking saga. DH is sorted now, but I still can't get to mine online. Wrote a firm email to them yesterday, hopefully will get a reply soon.Ruby, hope DDs new job goes well, I think we never stop being a concerned parent no matter how old they get!TA Happy 50th to DD, hope she has a fab timeCamelot sounds like DGD is doing well with her swimming, - so are you
I'd love to take up swimming again but there isn't a pool within easy reach on the bus.
Tea was easy last night finishing all the bits and pieces from our trip down to Wemb!ey on Sunday- the fridge is looking a bit bare now.Gers really hope the physio can help you today.Enjoy the sunshine today, hope you are all well x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone and thanks for the start nmlc x Hope you have a better day at work - solidarity with you over rubbish colleagues!!
I've not managed to get on for a few days. Weekend of entertaining outlaws and other family members. Lots of leftovers which was good as the shopping bill wasn't cheap, but hey, it's a special birthday so that's fine! Still cannot believe certain family members who rock up empty handed then drink 10+ cans of lager. Their wife was ranting that she wanted to go home and he didn't give a **** - happy families NOT!
I'm WFH today and had a few internet issues this morning - was worried I'd have to jump on a train to London, but seems okay now?
Good luck at WW tonight @IzzyBee - when you're in it for the long haul it helps to let off steam every now and again x
Hope the physio goes well @Gers. You've reminded me to top up the bird feeders although the local squirrel population seems to get there first grrr!
Happy 50th birthday to your DD @TravellingAbuela - I hope the family have a lovely time x Sorry to hear your BFF is deteriorating - I hope she's pain free and surrounded by love x
How awful for you @RosyRed x I hope things are getting sorted but what a shock x
We are at the cinema tonight seeing 'Allelujah' at 5.45pm so will have a cheeky Nandos afterwards. I will choose something SW friendly
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all Its sunny but cold the WM is whirring away and i will put it outside for a blow. Not sure what's for dinner tonight will go down to the freezer in a minute .
Life seems to be very trying right now I had a big row online with last Minute .com about our trip to Bangkok no phone number and now all they can offer is a voucher for full amount or half the money in cash so we will be getting together at the weekend to sort it to say i am angry is an understatement payed by credit card but as it is ATOL protected they can't help and ATOL only covers provider failure GRRRR
The Landscaper has messaged his wife is unwell she has been for sometime so he was looking at coming in a couple of weeks but guess what we are away so not sure when the garden will be done
The water machine man is coming today at 4ish we rent it from Virgin but it has broken completely this is the second time in 2 weeks they have been out
I am crossing my fingers that next week all my planets align and life goes back to normal
Ruby Good Luck to your DD on her first day
Izzy fingers crossed you have stayed the same
TA Happy Birthday to your DD I hope they enjoy the Lodge
Rosy I hope you manage to get things sorted its quite a shock DD1 had this but they took lots of credit out in her name she only realised when an American Express card arrived
Gers Hope all goes well at the physio
Right better get on have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe warm and dry xxSlava Ukraini9 -
Morning. Beautifully sunny again! Such a mood lifter...Managed three loads yesterday in the wm, two on the line and the bits and bobs in the td, which didn't take long. Some of it is still on the line because it wasn't quite dry and all appliances were moved, brushed under, washed under and put back again. The blanket is finished too, that's my cousins birthday present sorted. I am also picking up some spent grains for the compost after and my friend told me the scrapstore has a load of garden stuff at the moment so I'll swing by there before I fetch the grains. Totally on a roll this week so far. Not sure if it's psychological or actual but I decided to stop taking the tamoxifen for a bit just to have a bit of quality of life back or to see if it made a difference. And I did try the cold shower this morning [after my hot one I hasten to add] and wow, that was...bracing....camelot, I don't know ho you do it...Rosy, how awful..It's such a shock and worry and it plays on your mind until it's all sorted which take take who knows how long and the stress of worrying if you're going to be believed or not...I hope it all gets resolved soon. After I had some money taken out before, I switched on notifications on the banking app to let me know whenever money was taken out of my accounts. It's a tiny bit of peace of mind to know at least I'll know in straightaway should it happen again. If your bank has similar, I would recommend. Ruby, it's very funny in places so you might not be bored rigid, I quite fancy going to see it again and am contemplating getting one of those cinema ticket things so I can go whenever...well done you on being so organised! Izzy, I love you telling someone else to slow down
hello kettle...
Gers, good luck with the physio, fingers and legs crossed for something to help you. TA, it is awful how quickly it happens, I'm glad you got to spend some time with her before she became more immobile. As Coxy says, she's surrounded by love. bella, sounds like you're having a run of it, fingers crossed for smoother future sailing. Coxy, parties bring out the worst in some and the best in others, glad you had a mostly great celebratory weekend! dp, you defiitely described screaming child/parent syndrome perfectly
Hugs n stuff to the ones who fancy any and shout out to the mia and the not 100% ers....
