Abolishing the state pension would be political suicide for any government, so it will not happen. You can see today that they are frightened to tamper with it , as older people vote a lot more than younger ones.Tashitalksmoney said:

Are you really so sure about that? People are selfish. Obviously abolishing the state pension for existing or soon to be pensioners you would be right. However announcing that it will be wound down and abolished in 30 years form now for new claimants, the older people who vote know might not care so much.Albermarle said:

That said I am sure it wouldn't be completely abolished - probably somehow replaced with something that was effectively means tested or where higher earners had to contribute a lot more to get the full amount.0 -
I appreciate it may be non negotiable but any opportunity to reduce nursery hours to allow more to be saved/invested?living in London with high part time nursery costs
