I thought this was an April Fool, but no About Emergency Alerts - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

People can opt out by searching their device settings for emergency alerts and then turning off severe and extreme ones. Officials say the alerts could be life-saving, though, advising against switching them off.

If you don't want this "service" turn it off here>

I have no such setting on either of my phones. Your illustration appears to be a US phone.
Maybe you should have read the government page that you link to before posting this?

Our Samsung phones all have the Public Safety Alerts, must have been a fairly recent update because it was
    not there before.

Disabled all of ours so we won't get any alerts in future.

When you get an alert, stop what you’re doing and follow the instructions in the alert.

    • You should not read or otherwise respond to an emergency alert whilst driving or riding a motorcycle.
    • If you are driving, you should continue to drive and not respond to the noise or attempt to pick up the mobile phone and deal with the message.
    Can't be that important then.

Still, I suppose "Nuclear strike imminent, get the door off its hinges and hide under it!" isn't much good if you are driving a car.... ;)

This was on the news a few weeks back, wasn't it? I don't remember them saying exactly what date the test announcement was going to be.

I posted the link to government page, there is no info on there on how to turn off the service.
It is not easy to find how to turn off and my photo is from a UK website.

If you don't have that, you have a very old unsupported iPhone?

They're finally activating Bill Gates' 5g covid vax nanobots.

Can't quite remember what's supposed to happen but there's probably a web site that can help with that.
