Do IFAs get extra commission if a SIPP is moved between companies?

Then why are you? Might be better to suggest to your family members that they post for themselves if they're concerned. You have some major misunderstandings/misapprehensions about how IFAs work/charge and are in danger of 'sharing' these with family members who might be equally out of their depth in this particular minefield area, and creating anxieties and worries where (possibly) none should exist.RogerPensionGuy said:Thanks for the replies, very nice.
I don't know if they are using an IFA, FA or a Wealth Manager, they only spoke in general terms and I don't really like getting personally involved with other peoples stuff like this,
My old fashioned view that I have is any of the above maybe tempted to pick a SIPP provider/platform that may not be in the clients 100% best interest.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1 -

I'm very carful about providing information about stuff, espically pensions and the like, especially to family, friends or work colleagues.
If anyone asks me about pension stuff I'm very shy and try to explain basic information available via simple sign posts all over the place and suggest people to investigate on their own legs.
I think I'm too biased towards simple low cost SIPPs and simple various index units they provide and not very fond of expensive SIPPs.
I plan very negatively like the Japanese stock market these last 30 years, who's to say other stockmarkets won't do something similar to them, my short term planning view is markets will tumble by maybe 30% inside a couple of years and stay thereabouts for 10 years.
With my very negative views I'm allowing my DB scheme to put on weight and this will be enough income for me, the DC is just nice to have for big special events or any nasty things that occur.0
