I'd wait until they've been with the DCA for a while before making CCA requests. They'll need to go to the original creditor for the CCA and the original creditor might be less interested in supplying CCAs for debts they offloaded a while ago.

Debt collection takes time, defaulting your accounts is only the first step, they may just sit tight and do nothing, or they may engage a collector, they may sell your accounts, the collection process can take a very long time, months, even years, you need a good emergency fund, then say in 6 months ascertain your position, and start paying then if you want to, there is no big rush here.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I am at the same point as you.
I have only heard from westcroft so far but they called me twice a day every day last week and wrote to me once. I didn't answer the calls and don't intend to. But yesterday I just went onto the website and made my first payment. I'm hoping that if I do thst every month for the same amount it keeps things quiet.0 -

Just make certain you have an emergency fund set up as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I don't think you should rush to set up payment plans. I would wait until they have sold the debt on.
