Paying Voluntary NI via online bank - which HMRC account 'name' is correct??

I have just tried to pay using my online bank and the HMRC account details given on the phoneline and on the gov.uk website:

Make an online or telephone bank transfer

Make your payment to the following HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) bank account, unless you’re paying from overseas.

Sort code Account number Account name
08 32 20 12001004 HMRC NIC Receipts

My bank recognises the account details but offers a choice of 2 account names!

Both have same sort code and account number:

HMRC NIC Deficiency Payment
or
HMRC NICO

Anyone know which is the right account name to select?

Have just managed to pay via the gov.uk website link - authorise a payment from you bank.... and the account that comes up is NICO.

Would recommend the gov.uk option of payment over sending payment via your own online account as yo get a receipt - you still need to be able to log into your online bank account during the process.

In my experience HMRC NICO has been the account name for paying for the current, or the most recent, year.

HMRC_NIC_RECEIPTS was the account I used for paying outstanding years. I was advised to include the underscores in that account name. I don't know if that is important or not but is what I was told to do by HMRC. I can confirm that the payment was received and subsequently applied appropriately.

In another thread someone reported First Direct, I think it was, not recognising the HMRC NIC RECEIPTS account name but I am unsure if the underscores were included. My understanding is that payment was eventually made to the "Deficiency" account.

I've just checked back and the account name for me was HMRC NI Contributi  I doubt it matters if they are all the same sort code and account number.  The issue over the name of the account is your bank making sure you're paying the right person
