What if I can't work till 68?

My pension age has gone up to 68 but I struggle now with disabilities to work and I still have another 30 years to work! They won't help with benefits because they said my partners wage will cover everything, which it won't. It will cover the mortgage aslong as we don't eat or stay warm! I'm paying all this money for money I probably won't see or get to enjoy what can I do?!

You are possibly better off posting on the benefits board to help understand what may be available to you
Not an announcement made today but it has happened.
And it could be reversed.1 -

You tighten your belt , move house and get a cheaper lifestyle. That what most people do , they live within there means.
Lifestyle and financial burdens change as you get older. Careful planning and being frugal can lighten the burden.1 -
Would working part time be an option?0

Nobody knows what the world will look like in 30 years time.
The state pension and the benefits system may look totally different to what it is now.Jessie888 said:My pension age has gone up to 68 but I struggle now with disabilities to work and I still have another 30 years to work! Have you checked if you are eligible for any benefits now?

Surely you won't have the mortgage by then? or need to save for a pension? or long term savings?Jessie888 said:My pension age has gone up to 68 but I struggle now with disabilities to work and I still have another 30 years to work! Yes it's not a lot to live on, but you need to cut your cloth to suit.
Are there any other lines of work you could explore that would work around your disabilities?0
