At John Lewis (online) till December 24th you can get a free Sony PS3 & wireless controler worth £299, including free 1 year warranty, with the purchase of a Sony Bravia KDL40V3000 LCD HD ready digital 40" TV. Priced at £1399, the TV itself has a free 5 year warranty and free delivery.

Beware though, this might not work out the cheapest way to buy a PS3 and 40" tv, other brands will probably do cheaper versions, but if you're more brand oriented and specifically want a Sony, a free PS3 might be a nice freebie. If the PS3 isn't that important though, John Lewis may reduce this tv in the sales. Anyway, hope this helps someone.

amazon are cheaper at 949 plus 29.99 for delivery, though you dont get the 5 year warranty which may be important to some - but lets face it my 1000+ tv packed up 1 week outside a years warranty - its not fit for purpose....and i would take the manufacturer to court if i had to....

I wonder if the offer still applies if you use there price match service?

I know people who froogle for the cheapest TV price online then get JL to match the price for the free 5yrs warranty and also because they usually have a no fuss return and exchange policy for TVs for any problem.

If they can match the lowest price and still give the free PS3 than that is good, other then that TBH JL is not the cheapest place online by far (unless you use there price match service).

usually the only match retailers....tho not sure if you still get the ps3 as well tho - would be good if you did....jl are a good company too

JL do 5 year warranty on every TV they sell;) :T :T :T

and they price match with Richer Sounds, so get a price from them and ask for a price match in store and the PS3 comes free too;) A friend of mine in Liverpool just done this and works a treat, he picked his up instore and took along a richer sounds advert showing the TV sub £1000

I'd love to know where he found that at RicherSounds for less than £1k; it doesn't show on their website at all, let alone at that price.

JL customer service is excellent. They took our nearly 5 year old TV away, left a 32" Sony LCD in its place, and brought the old one back again - !!!!!! - all with no charge. Many places offer the 5 year warranty direct from the manufacturer - esp Sony and Panasonic - but I can't help thinking the claims process would be somewhat laborious. For this reason, our next TV will be from JL.

As for price match, they've really cracked down and will price match national chains, or - generally - a shop within 8 miles of one of their stores, in stock and the price on display. Though they may price match, but add on any delivery charge (as they offered me with Empire Direct) I know, I've tried a few times of late!
