Electricity Prices from Landlord

Options
Hi
I am hoping someone can help. We rent a commercial property for our dance studio. We have a shared meter but this is used for all their businesses. Including an inflatable air arcade. Our meter has now jumped up to £0.76 p k/w, which we can't afford! We have tried to ask them to supply just a meter for us as we are a tiny studio compared to this warehouse facility. Where do we stand on this? Thanks

Even if you get your own supply you'll be paying commercial rates and that could mean similar unit costs and a locked-in term.

Their large facility may have actually negotiated a decent deal !

I don't see how that's going to help you as you will stay have to pay the going rate for the electricity you use - my current contract for commercial electricity is at 76.5p / kWh - so I think your rate seems about right. Getting your own meter won't reduce your rate any and will mean you have to pay a standing charge on top of that
