My grandsons wages are taken into consideration for household income regarding council tax. He is only 17yrs old. He earns more than £195 per week and is not on a training program or apprenticeship. Is this right?

Who are the other wage earners in the household? If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Is your Grandson also studying eg at school sixth form or college. If he lives in England then he is meant to be until he is 18 though in reality I believe very few people chase this up. School leaving age - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
England
You can leave school on the last Friday in June if you’ll be 16 by the end of the summer holidays.
You must then do one of the following until you’re 18:
- stay in full-time education, for example at a college
- start an apprenticeship or traineeship
- spend 20 hours or more a week working or volunteering, while in part-time education or training
If he isn't studying just working, then as above who does he live with?0 -
I assume you are referring to Council Tax Reduction, not Council Tax?
Under 18's are disregarded for CT.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
