I have been reading all the articles about people buying extra NI contributions but i am the opposite, i have 39 years paid full and still got about 12 years to work. How do I benefit from paying more? Or can I stop paying NI?

You're contain to the general tax revenue of the government as you always have. You can't stop paying it1

Your National Insurance contributions are paid into a fund, from which some state benefits are paid.
This includes the state pension, statutory sick pay or maternity leave, or entitlement to additional unemployment benefits.

Of course you can. Just reduce your hours until you earn £123/week or less and you won't need to pay any NI.ALLI17 said:I have been reading all the articles about people buying extra NI contributions but i am the opposite, i have 39 years paid full and still got about 12 years to work.
