Weird, we got solar edge, it cost only about £100 more but worked for our set up as we had 2 panels S-facing and 14 W so didn't work for 2 strings - this was 8 years ago!

Was that at initial install where optimisers/microinverters can be installed to the panels before being mounted using scaffold access?

Replacing an an existing inverter with something introducing greater complexity necessitating additional on roof access to each panel is surely considered as involving far more effort than simply unscrewing & replacing what's already there with as little disruption, effort & cost that is totally necessary ?? ... if it's also a case of addressing shading issues etc, then maybe there's a justification, but otherwise ??
